Cryogenic Performance of RF ONE Microwave Products

The cryogenic performance of microwave products is a crucial consideration in a variety of fields, such as quantum computing, space exploration, and low-temperature physics research.

At RF ONE, we often receive inquiries about the feasibility of using our microwave components in cryogenic applications. While we currently do not have the capability to test cryogenic performance in-house, our customers have tested our thin-film coax fixed attenuator for cryogenic applications.

We would like to share the actual data to demonstrate that our 27GHz SMA 2W attenuator functions well at cryogenic temperatures. Cryogenic testing (the 3dB SMA 27GHz pad, P/N: RFHB2703SC2) comes courtesy of CryoElec LLC.

The DUT was firstly measured at room temperature for the loss and then was installed in a cryogenic condition down to 12.5K. The loss exhibited minimal degradation in performance.

The measured cryogenic test data and test photo are shown below.

We expect our thin film termination loads will also operate well at cryogenic temperatures as our terminations and attenuators share the same structure and material.

If you are interested in using our products for cryogenic applications and willing to perform the test on your own, please contact us at sales@rfone.cn, we will respond within 24 hours. (Samples are available if test results can be shared.)
